At HERC we desire to fulfil our biblical calling to display God’s love by showing care, empathy and compassion for the people around us. Especially those vulnerable and often forgotten on the basis of their status in society.
What we do
Through our Mercy Ministries team, we seek to actively match our gifts and resources to meet the practical needs of our local community in Hackney.
We run a quarterly foodbank, raise toy, book and clothing collections, work with local partners to widen access to healthcare through hypertension screening and drop-ins with qualified medical professionals and support elderly care homes through choir ministry.

We continue to pray that the Lord will bless His work and thank you for supporting the HERC Mercy Ministries team. How your generosity helps:
• £20 provides a parcel of ambient foods for two visitors at our quarterly foodbank
• £40 helps to feed a family of five requiring use of our quarterly foodbank with meals for a week.
• £100 provides sanitary, cleaning and basic hygiene products for 10 households at our quarterly foodbank.
Quarterly food bank
At HERC we run a quarterly foodbank in our church building to serve local residents in Hackney faced with the harsh reality of food poverty. To learn more about how you can support the initiative or to sign up to attend, click below.
